About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Music for both our Primary and Secondary sections including up to IGCSE Music. The successful candidate will play an active role in the development of a coherent whole school programme focused on transdisciplinary and cross-curricular links as well as building a culture of perfromance.
The role includes teaching IGCSE Music for Y10 and Y11 students. A willingness to teach Music For both Primary and Secondary students and to contribute to the ongoing development of the Performing Arts Department is essential.
This position would suit a reflective practitioner who enjoys curriculum development, collaboration, and working within a student-centred learning environment. The successful candidate will be keen to contribute to the wider life of the school and to support students in developing confidence, creativity, and a love of music and performance. Essential Criteria
A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent (or working towards one)
A strong subject knowledge in music theory, music technology or musical performance and understanding of IGCSE examinations
Experience of, or interest in, Montessori-informed or alternative educational approaches
An interest in curriculum design and development, particularly at Key Stage 2 and 3
A student-centred approach to teaching and learning
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
A commitment to professional development and reflective practice
A willingness to engage with the wider life of the school and work in partnership with families
Desirable Criteria
Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE specifications
Experience teaching primary level
Experience of working with students for whom English is their second language
Experience working in an international or multicultural school environment
Experience contributing to extracurricular activities, productions,
