Teacher of Music

The role Emanuel School is looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Music to join its thriving department on a permanent basis. You will join a vibrant and ambitious team of specialist teachers who share a deep passion for music, delivering an exciting and aspirational programme of creative opportunities to highly capable pupils across a wide range of musical genres. The department offers an exceptionally rich and dynamic music programme, providing pupils with inspiring opportunities to perform, create and develop as musicians. You will deliver stimulating and engaging lessons that challenge and inspire pupils, enabling them to achieve their full potential in music. You will also play a full role in the department’s extensive co-curricular provision, contributing to and supporting music tuition, orchestras, ensembles, concerts, chapel services, music tours, and musicals and drama productions. As well as delivering excellent classroom teaching, all staff at Emanuel undertake a pastoral role (as a form tutor, or as a co-tutor if an ECT) and get involved in the wider life of the school through co-curricular activities and outreach programmes. About you This role would suit an experienced teacher who can teach GCSE and A Level Music (currently Eduqas). You will be an accomplished and well-qualified musician with the passion and drive to build on the excellent standards of music at Emanuel, and to strive for the highest levels of academic outcomes and pupil participation. Applicants with well-developed piano and potentially organ skills, who also have the ability to take a leading role in the choral work of the department would be highly desirable. An excellent track record of music teaching in a secondary setting with high academic and musical standards is essential, along with experience of accompanying rehearsals, concerts and ABRSM examinations, and of contributing to high-quality performances and concerts.
