The school is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and inspiring part-time MFL Teacher to teach French and/or Spanish to pupils from Nursery to Year 6.
The successful candidate will bring language learning to life through fun, engaging and age-appropriate lessons that develop pupils’ confidence, curiosity and enjoyment of other languages and cultures. They will be able to adapt their teaching from playful early language exposure in Nursery and Reception through to more structured language learning in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The role would suit a teacher who is warm, energetic, imaginative and passionate about helping young children develop a love of languages.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and LearningTeach French and/or Spanish to pupils from Nursery to Year 6.
Plan and deliver lively, creative and engaging lessons suited to pupils’ ages and stages of development.
Use songs, games, stories, role play, movement, practical activities and cultural experiences to make language learning enjoyable.
Introduce pupils to basic vocabulary, pronunciation, greetings, numbers, colours, songs, rhymes and everyday phrases.
Develop pupils’ speaking and listening skills, with appropriate reading and writing activities introduced as pupils move through the school.
Build pupils’ confidence in using another language in a supportive and encouraging environment.
