About this role

ABOUT THE WORTHGATE SCHOOL The Worthgate School offers an outstanding international pre-university educational experience to students aged 13+ from all over the world. Students study for GCSEs, A levels and University Foundation Programmes, and preparing for admission to universities across the country and elsewhere. We pride ourselves on our approach to teaching and learning, with small class sizes and an informal atmosphere ensuring that students are treated as individuals and build great relationships with staff. JOB OVERVIEW TEACHER OF SOCIOLOGY (FULL-TIME) FOR SEPTEMBER 2026 Are you looking for a teaching role where you can devote time to educating international students with the highest aspirations? Our student body is diverse, inspiring, and ever-growing. Consequently, an exciting opportunity has arisen to teach Sociology, within the Humanities Department at the Worthgate School. The Humanities Department offers a broad range of subjects across a variety of programmes of study: GCSE, PRE, A-level, IB Diploma and University Foundation programmes. Subject disciplines include History, Geography, Environmental Systems and Societies, Psychology, Sociology, Global Politics, and International Relations. As a teacher, this is a fantastic and truly unique environment in which to work. Class sizes are small, and students are highly motivated to learn and ultimately progress to excellent universities. Applicants who particularly relish teaching at A-level standard will therefore find the Worthgate School a hugely enjoyable and fulfilling place to work. The Humanities disciplines are very popular with our students, many of whom go on to apply for related university courses both nationally and internationally. Consequently, we are not only seeking a teacher who can harness the international context of our classrooms and foster an inclusive environment for dialogue and academic development, but also someone who can drive engaging co-curricular opportunities for students
