Teacher of Humanities (Religious Studies) Derby Grammar School Part Time Fixed Term Contract (1 Year) Suitable for ECTs Start Date: 27 August 2026 Derby Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic, talented and inspirational Teacher of Humanities with a specialism in Religious Studies to join our Senior School team from August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to play a key role within a thriving Humanities department, teaching Religious Studies from Key Stage 3 to A Level, while also contributing to the teaching of Geography at Key Stage 3. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). At Derby Grammar School, Humanities helps pupils discover their place in the world and develop their personal, cultural and intellectual understanding. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who can inspire curiosity, challenge pupils of all abilities and foster a genuine love of learning. About the School Derby Grammar School is a successful all-through independent school educating pupils from Reception to Sixth Form. We benefit from small class sizes, a strong sense of community and positive, constructive relationships between staff and pupils. Religious Studies is a valued subject within the curriculum. All pupils study Religious Studies in Years 7 to 9, with many choosing to continue the subject at GCSE. We follow the OCR specification at both GCSE and A Level, with small classes enabling personalised support and meaningful academic discussion. The Role The successful candidate will: Teach Religious Studies across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level. Contribute to the teaching of Geography at Key Stage 3.
