This is a full-time, permanent position, MPS/UPS, to commence January 2027.

Blessed George Napier is a popular, over-subscribed, Catholic School in Banbury with an excellent reputation for both academic achievement and student welfare.

“Pupils are keen to be part of this thoughtful and inclusive school… enjoying learning and showing kindness are part of everyday life… Pupils talk positively about the support provided for their physical and mental well-being… and study an ambitious curriculum.” Latest Ofsted Report

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of History to join us in January. History is a popular, well performing subject with high up-take at both GCSE and Sixth Form, so the ability to teach across all Key Stages would be advantageous (previous experience of A-level Russia or Civil Rights in the US would be of particular benefit).

You will be able to teach engaging, challenging and creative lessons, be passionate about your subject and fully committed to improving the outcomes for all our students.

Our people are at the heart of our success and in return we can offer:

  • An exciting opportunity to work with an outstanding and supportive team
  • Excellent CPD opportunities
  • Entry into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme
  • Genuine commitment to employee health and wellbeing, including a dedicated Employee Assistance Programme
  • Access to education staff discount schemes
  • The opportunity to support the wider school life such as trips abroad, drama performances, our student and staff choir and after school sporting activities

All applicants must be able to demonstrate an empathy for, and understanding of, the Catholic Christian ethos of the school.
