We are seeking to appoint a full-time ambitious, inspirational and outstanding Geography specialist to join a growing team. The Geography department is full of enthusiastic and talented practitioners who cooperate well and share good practice. Results for Geography are rapidly improving and we are keen to continue to build on this success.
The post is suited to either a newly qualified teacher or an experienced practitioner who shares our vision and values of achieving excellence and our commitment to continuously improving the standards of teaching and learning in a dedicated and forward looking Geography team.
The Geography department delivers Key Stage 3 Geography over two years and Key Stage 4 over three years. The Geography department is an enthusiastic and committed team who pride themselves on delivering a dynamic curriculum following the principles of Project ERA, our 1:1 iPad scheme.
We also offer a range of extra-curricular Geography to help foster a love of Geography and desire to learn. Termly, we complete our beach clean after school and we also run an annual Geography Fieldwork which is extremely well received and feeds into the KS4 curriculum. Our school prides itself on its Gamechanger curriculum which develops students' leadership and confidence to be the change they want to see in the wider world and we are looking for individuals who can drive this initiative forward.
We have positive and supportive relationships across the Humanities Faculty and we work closely together regularly sharing best practice. An ability to teach across the Humanities subjects would be a valuable attribute.
We are looking for someone who:
● Has a strong ethos of high achievement and success within Geography
● Has the ability to create, plan and deliver a Geography curriculum that will develop pupils’ skills, knowledge, understanding and their love for learning in the 21st century
