Sutton Valence school are looking for a dedicated, dynamic, and inspirational teacher to teach English from September 2026 on a one-term fixed term contract. The candidate must promote the highest standards of teaching and learning in the classroom, be innovative and invested in contributing to the development of the Departments, all whilst ensuring an outstanding level of pupil pastoral care.

The successful candidate would be expected to teach pupils from First Form to Upper Sixth and across our ability range (wider than that of a traditional grammar school, but not as wide as that of a comprehensive school). Adaptability and effective differentiation is critical to cater for a broad ability range.
Applicants should have excellent organisational and time-management skills, and enjoy leading and working as part of a team, with an ability to provide effective guidance and support to all colleagues.
The department’s teaching style is very much centred on the pupils and their individual needs, and the successful candidate should be fully committed to this aim.
