An exciting opportunity has opened up to join an enthusiastic and dedicated staff team in a small but growing independent school with an excellent reputation. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented teacher of English and Drama in KS3 and KS4 with some teaching in KS5 a possibility. The post is from September 2026 and is full time.
Thames is a mainstream, co-educational independent secondary school catering for pupils aged 11-18. It is located next to Clapham Junction station, in brand new, purpose built premises.

The role:
Teaching English and Drama in KS3 and KS4
Teaching some English in KS5 is a possibility
Planning and delivering well structured lessons and ensuring that high standards of engagement are maintained in the classroom
Suggesting and implementing strategies to improve engagement and progress
Implementing the school’s strategic vision for English and Drama, through long, medium and short term planning and further developing appropriate schemes of learning and resources.
Contributing to the school’s vibrant co-curricular performing arts programme.
The successful candidate will:
Be a graduate with a relevant good honours degree
Be a creative, innovative and dedicated teacher with a real passion for your subject
Have a commitment to embracing challenges and raising pupil attainment
Have an exceptional eye for detail
Have experience in either the private or maintained sector
