Teacher of English

Bruntcliffe Academy is seeking to recruit an inspirational colleague to the role of Teacher of English. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 and motivating pupils, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to achieve their full potential. This is an exceptionally important role for us here at Bruntcliffe Academy; the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and the ability to enthuse pupils in this fundamental part of our curriculum to develop their cultural capital and academic skill set. We would welcome applications from candidates currently completing their Initial Teacher Training in order to begin their Early Career Teacher Year 1 with us in September 2026. Early Career Teachers at Bruntcliffe Academy receive a bespoke programme of personalised professional development to support their progression into exceptional practitioners. Potential applicants should: Be either: · A trainee teacher who is successfully completing placement(s) teaching at KS3 & KS4 (applicants currently in training). or: · A colleague with a successful record of teaching with strong examination results at one or more of KS3 & KS4 (applicants who have already gained Qualified Teacher Status). Applicants should also have: · A detailed knowledge of current developments in education including the effective use of the Pupil Premium. · The ability to put vision into practice.
