We are seeking a well-qualified Economics specialist to deliver A Level Economics.
Qualifications: A good degree in a relevant subject and a teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET).
Experience: Current or recent experience of teaching A Level Economics or a closely related subject is desirable (or the willingness to upskill). Applications are welcomed from ECTs.
Knowledge and Skills: A thorough understanding of Economics.
Personal Qualities: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, flexibility and effective organisation.
Motivation and Expectations: A commitment to high standards which motivate, support, and encourage the growth and maturing of students, as well as an enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
A member of the Science Faculty, the Economics department has grown significantly this year and is seeking a new member of the team to deliver A Level Economics. The Economics teachers form a proactive and supportive team, collaboratively developing resources and techniques. Curriculum resources are of a high standard and shared among staff. The subject area has the advantage of a Library & Curriculum Support Officer who helps coordinate and compile learning resources.
Members of the teaching staff are also personal tutors. Tutors monitor progress and offer support and guidance to 25 students. The ability to contribute to the enrichment programme would be welcome.
Collyer’s is committed to the professional development of all staff. Staff are encouraged to attend external CPD as well as in-house training events.
Salary Range: On the SFCA salary scale, £33,465 (Point 1) to £51,714 (Point 9).
