About this role
We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Teacher of Double Bass to join our large and thriving music department. The successful candidate will combine excellence as a performing musician with a genuine passion for nurturing the next generation of young musicians.
The role
You will teach individual lessons to pupils ranging from complete beginners through to diploma level, helping to grow what is an exciting area of development for us — we are currently launching a group tuition scheme for Year 7 beginners and are looking for someone to help drive the uptake of double bass across the school. You will prepare pupils for ABRSM examinations and for a wide range of performance opportunities, including our Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, String Ensemble and various chamber groups.
Most lessons are 35 minutes long on a rotational timetable, with longer lessons available for our more advanced pupils.

£38.50 per hour, reviewed annually in line with all teaching staff salaries

Who we're looking for
You will be an excellent musician with a love of teaching and the energy and enthusiasm to inspire young people. Strong organisational skills, high professional standards and a real commitment to teamwork are essential, as is a good knowledge of ABRSM examination specifications and the wider performance opportunities available to young musicians.
