Teacher of Art & Textiles (Maternity Cover) Part-time - approx 0.42 FTE (11 lessons plus co-curricular responsibility) Start date: 1st January 2027 Contract: Fixed-term, up to 1 year Closing Date: 24th August 2026 Monkton is seeking to appoint a part-time Teacher of Art & Textiles for a maternity cover contract from 1st January 2027 for up to 12 months The successful applicant will share our vision for fostering a love of lifelong learning, both for students and teachers. A willingness to work collaboratively, and get fully and energetically involved in the co-curricular and pastoral life of the School is essential. Art is taught in our purpose built centre, shared with the Design Department. Students are encouraged to think critically, developing their innovative and creative proficiency through designing and making high quality products. The department offers GCSE’s in Fine Art, Photography and 3D Design, with A levels in these three as well as Textiles and Graphic Communication. In addition to teaching an academic timetable (11 lessons), this role would include co-curricular activities. The current Art Teacher is a ceramics specialist so we would be looking for someone who is able to cover these sessions and is qualified and experienced using a kiln. The salary offered is in accordance with the Monkton Combe Teaching Staff Salary Scale and can be discussed at interview.
