About this role
New Hall School is seeking to appoint a Student Support Manager for students in the Middle Division (Years 7–8). This role is central to the School’s outstanding pastoral provision, with a key focus on supporting the emotional and social development of students aged 11–13. Working closely with the Head of Middle Division, and the wider pastoral team, the Student Support Manager will play a vital role in ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality care, guidance, and wellbeing support. There are two Student Support Managers, who work closely together, sharing ideas and expertise.
The Student Support Manager role serves as a key point of contact for students and parents, contributing to the smooth and effective running of the School’s pastoral systems, ensuring all students feel valued, and supported, while maintaining the highest standards of personal development within their relevant year groups.
Key responsibilities:
to act as the first point of contact for student and parent pastoral enquiries, ensuring a professional and timely response
to support the Head of Middle Division in the coordination of pastoral care and student wellbeing
to assist the Head of Middle Division with the transition of students into Year 7
to ensure a smooth transition for new students
to liaise with teaching staff, tutors, and boarding staff to support students and address pastoral concerns
to assist in the organisation and administration of pastoral meetings and student voice meetings, including preparing agendas and recording actions
to maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including pastoral notes and communications
to support the management of student behaviour and welfare matters, including follow-up actions and communication with parents
to coordinate communications to students and staff regarding pastoral updates, including notices and timetable changes
