Position Overview
Raffles American School Bangkok is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Behaviour Counsellor to join our counselling team. This role focuses on supporting student behaviour, primarily within the middle school, with additional support for high school students as needed.
The successful candidate will work within the school’s established behaviour policies and procedures to support students in developing positive behaviours, self-regulation, and accountability. The role includes close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, teachers, and counselors, with a strong emphasis on restorative practices.
This position focuses on proactive intervention, relationship-building, and supporting students in making positive behavioural choices within a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the implementation of the school’s behaviour policies and procedures
• Work directly with students to address behavioural concerns and promote positive choices
• Facilitate restorative conversations, mediation, and reflection
• Provide proactive and responsive interventions for student behaviour
• Collaborate with SLT, teachers, and counsellors to support student needs
• Develop and monitor behaviour support plans for identified students
• Maintain clear and accurate records of student interventions and progress
• Communicate with parents regarding student behaviour and development
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in counselling, psychology, education, or a related field
• Experience working as a school counsellor or in a student support/behaviour-focused role
• Experience working with middle and/or high school students preferred
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies and restorative pract
