About this role

Permanent, Full-Time, Full Year Contract Salary: Point 20 - £34,904 to Point 25 - £40,397 gross pay per annum depending on qualifications and relevant experience. Whitgift is one of Britain’s leading independent boarding and day schools for boys aged between 10 and 18 years, with approximately 1500 pupils and over one hundred boarding or flexi-boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast. We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically skilled Stage Technician to support the delivery of productions, events and audio-visual services across the School. Working closely with the Head of AV & Production, the successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating lighting, sound and AV systems, constructing stage and scenic elements, maintaining performance spaces and equipment, and providing technical support for a wide range of school activities and events. The ideal candidate will have experience across technical theatre disciplines, including lighting, sound, AV and stage construction, together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. They will be a reliable and adaptable team player, capable of working independently when required, with a commitment to health and safety, excellent customer service and a willingness to work evenings and weekends to support the School’s busy programme of productions and events. In return, we offer a generous salary and benefits package, including a money purchase pension scheme (with Life Assurance), access to an Employee Discount Club, membership of a healthcare plan, discounted school fees for permanent posts within the Foundation, and a supportive working environment with opportunities for training and development. We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to attract staff that match the social and cultural diversity of our student intake. To apply
