We see it differently. At New Meaning Training (NMT), we work with young people who haven’t thrived in mainstream education. Some come in with low confidence. Some feel anxious. Some have additional needs like autism, ADHD or SEMH. Most have had experiences that made learning feel difficult, frustrating, or pointless. That doesn’t mean they can’t move forward. This is the place where they get another go — with the right support around them. We’re looking for a Teaching Assistant with an interest in sport who wants to work alongside tutors to help young people re-engage. You’ll be part of a small, consistent team, supporting sessions that use movement, physical activity and practical learning to build confidence, teamwork and routine. This role isn’t about being the loudest voice or running everything perfectly. It’s about showing up consistently, building trust, and helping young people take small steps forward — even on the days it doesn’t feel easy. Key Responsibilities Support tutors during sport and practical sessions, helping young people stay engaged and involved Work 1:1 and in small groups, adapting your approach depending on confidence, need and behaviour Help create a calm, steady environment where young people feel safe to take part Encourage attendance, effort and participation — even when motivation is low Support learners to develop routines, teamwork and positive attitudes to learning Build relationships with young people, taking time to understand what works for them Assist with behaviour support, responding calmly and consistently when things feel challenging Help with sessio
