The Sports & PE Department are seeking active and interested graduates or university students in their placement year to join the department at this exciting time for sport at Rossall.
Graduate Assistants live on-site in the shared staff accommodation, as this allows them to become fully involved in school life and take every opportunity available during their time at Rossall.
Positions are available in Football, Netball and Hockey.
The purpose of the role is to assist in the coaching of sport and fixtures at Rossall School. The successful candidates' main responsibilities will be;
Coaching on Rossall Sports Teams in Games, on fixtures and in training.
Work on any assigned EPP Sessions
Assisting in the delivery of ILP’s
Work on all signature Programmes as requested
Any other duties assigned by the Assistant Head (Director of Sport)
Other
Required for Saturday, midweek and cup fixtures as agreed with the Assistant Head (Director of Sport) at the commencement of each term
Required for Training Sessions both midweek and weekend
To safeguard the general health and safety of pupils.
To participate in all relevant meetings as required.
Undertake a boarding house duty
Assistaing with evening gym activities or organised sessions as required
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Sports LeadershipA huigh level of playing and/or coaching experience in Football, Netball or Hockey
Ability to deliver high quality Football sessions to students from age 12 through to 18
A coaching qualification, licence, or equivalent would be a significant advantage
Personal QualitiesA professional, yet caring and compassionate approach to dealing with students
Conscientiousness, enthusiasm and the ability to sustain long hours during term time, including evenings and weekends
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to develop a rapport with pupils throughout the school
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
