POST: Speech and Language Therapist
LOCATION: Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust
SALARY: Band G/H SCP 32 – 43 £42,840 - £54,495 per annum pro rata (£38,702 - £49,255 per annum)
HOURS: 37 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week
REQUIRED FOR: September 2026
The post holder will work as part of a central team of specialists strengthening, developing and supporting inclusive practice across the Trust schools to remove barriers to learning and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Delivering a high quality, effective speech and language therapy services across the Trust, working with staff and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes. Playing a key role in supporting the Trust to meet its statutory responsibilities, including contributing to diagnostic assessment pathways and developing inclusive practice across all settings.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
The successful candidate will:
Have a recognised professional degree qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
Be a registered member of the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
Experience working as a Speech, Language and Communication Needs therapist, preferably withing a children and young people setting
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting
Experience of working on a child Multi Agency Assessment Autism Pathway
Have an understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and Equality Act (2010) legislation and its implications
Tenacious practice to ensure that the wishes of children and young people are heard and affect decision making
To be proficient with the use of technology
