Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities General The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech or language disorders, formulate individualised treatment programs, keep appropriate records, and inform teachers and parents about students' progress. In general, the qualified applicant must: Commit to and positively promote the school’s Mission and Educational Model in an age 2 to Grade 12, day and boarding context. View yourself as a change agent, capable of helping all students make progress in a way that communicates that there is more in them than they think. Build relationships with all stakeholders that promotes the success of students and the programme. General Speech Language Pathology responsibilities Work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults, both inside and outside the UWC Thailand community. Provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder or progressive neurological disorders. Work with people who don't have speech, language, or swallowing disorders, but want to learn how to communicate more effectively (e.g., work on accent modification or other forms of communication enhancement).
