Specialist Tutor, EOTAS (Outreach) - BromleyThis is a fixed-term role delivering a funded EOTAS tuition package for a young person in Bromley who has been out of formal education for some time. He is autistic, with a demand avoidant profile (PDA), alongside ADHD, anxiety and dyslexia. He needs his education delivered at his own pace, through his own interests, rather than through direct instruction. We're looking for someone who already understands PDA in daily practice, not just in theory. Someone who can build the kind of trusted relationship that makes re-engagement with learning possible. This role can be delivered by one Specialist Tutor covering all 12 hours, or by two tutors sharing them. Key detailsContract: Fixed-term, employed (PAYE), for the duration of this EOTAS package Working pattern: 12 hours a week, delivered across 5 days and paced to the young person's regulation on the day. Term-time only, 39 weeks a year Location: Face to face at the young person's home and in the community in the London Borough of Bromley, with online elements where they suit his interests. Regular, reliable travel to Bromley is needed Pay: £30.00 to £42.00 per hour, plus statutory holiday pay, depending on experience Travel and expenses: A travel allowance of 45p per mile for any journey transporting the young person, plus access to a budget covering the cost of community activities Start date: As soon as our safer recruitment checks are complete What you'll be doingInterest-led, low-demand teaching Introducing academic content through the young person's own interests, using a low-demand, PDA-informed approach rather than direct instruction. Adapting the pace of each session to his regulation on the day. Executive functioning and assistive technology Supporting planning, sequencing and transitions. Using touch typing and voice to text in place of handwriting, in line with dyslexi
