The Governors wish to appoint a Specialist Teacher of Literacy who will work collaboratively to design, develop and deliver a literacy intervention provision for pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 working below age-related expectations. The role will focus on building secure foundations in phonics, early reading, reading fluency, writing and spelling, enabling pupils to accelerate progress and access the secondary curriculum with confidence.
This is a unique opportunity to bridge primary and secondary practice, contribute to whole-school inclusion, and shape a provision with meaningful impact on pupil outcomes. The postholder will be expected to bring strong primary curriculum knowledge, particularly in phonics and literacy development, alongside a clear commitment to closing literacy gaps for pupils who require additional support.
