About this role

We are looking for a qualified teacher to support the development of our new school, Jasmine Grove, an independent special educational needs day school for young people with autism aged 8-18. Jasmine Grove School is part of Smoothstone Care and Education. The successful candidate will help to deliver a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum and help to develop a therapeutic, nurturing environment set up to meet a range of needs associated with a diagnosis of autism including communication and severe learning difficulties. It is our vision that Jasmine Grove will develop into a place of excellence and become a leading light for our young people and their families. About the role Working as a teacher at Jasmine Grove School you will enhance the learning environment for our pupils, leading lessons and promoting personal development and well-being for all. You will help set up the classrooms, develop our new curriculum, plan and lead lessons, keep accurate records to track pupil progress and contribute to the wider school. It is essential you are aware of pupil progress and able to flag potential concerns. Safeguarding the welfare of the young people in our care will be your primary responsibility. While experience of teaching core subjects (Maths/English/Science) within a SEN setting and/or working with pupils who present as reluctant learners would be an advantage, we are particularly seeking someone with the ability to teach across Key Stages. You will play a key role in developing and delivering creative pathways that inspire and engage our pupils. This role would also be suitable for someone who has a background in Primary Education.
