About this role
The King’s School, Chester is seeking a skilled and committed Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to support its vision that every child is known, understood, and able to flourish. Working primarily with pupils in Willow Lodge (Infants) and the Junior School, the SENCo plays a key role in ensuring high‑quality, consistent SEND provision as pupils move through to Key Stage 3.
Reporting to and working under the leadership of the Director of Learning Support, the SENCo will coordinate the identification, assessment, and day‑to‑day support of pupils with SEND. The role focuses on delivering evidence‑based, aspirational provision that enables pupils to access the curriculum confidently and independently.
The role is based in The Rohan Ingley Centre, our purpose‑built hub for Learning Support, medical and wellbeing services. This outstanding facility enables a truly joined-up, child-centred approach, ensuring every pupil receives the care and support they need to thrive.
We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
National SENCo Award (or working towards)
A recognised qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties (Level 5 or 7 preferred)
Experience supporting pupils with Dyslexia, ADHD and ASC
Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
Salary: A highly competitive salary paid on our own teaching scale
