Bilborough College is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Skills and Progression Teacher (Personal Tutor) to join our high-performing and inclusive sixth form college. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping students’ personal development, wellbeing and future aspirations. About the roleAs a Skills and Progression Teacher, you will: Deliver engaging group sessions and 1:1 tutorials focused on personal development, study skills and progression planning Monitor and support student progress, attendance, behaviour and wellbeing Provide high-quality pastoral support and guidance to a caseload of students Support students with progression pathways, including university (UCAS), apprenticeships and employment routes Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support services and parents/carers to ensure students achieve their potential Use data effectively to identify and implement targeted interventions You will play a key role in helping students develop the skills, confidence and resilience they need to thrive beyond college. About youWe are looking for someone who: Holds a full teaching qualification (or is working towards one – ECTs welcome) Has experience working with 16–19-year-olds in a teaching, pastoral or guidance role Can build positive, respectful relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds Is highly organised, able to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively Has strong communication skills and a collaborative approach Is committed to inclusion, student success and raising achievement for all Experience of progression planning (e.g. UCAS, apprenticeships or care
