At New Meaning Training’s Stratford-upon-Avon centre, we provide an alternative, person-centred education for young people aged 16–25 who haven’t thrived in traditional settings. Our learners often arrive with low confidence, anxiety, or disengagement from education, and many have additional needs such as EHCPs, autism, ADHD, or social emotional challenges. What makes the difference here is not just what we teach, but how we support each young person to rebuild confidence and move forward.
We’re recruiting a SETPD Tutor to support learners through our Supported Employment, Training and Personal Development (SETPD) programme. Initially, this role will focus on delivery within our Creative Art & Design pathway. However, as learner needs and centre priorities evolve, the role may pivot to support other programmes across the centre. For this reason, we’re less concerned with your background in a specific subject area, and more interested in your ability to engage learners, build strong relationships, and adapt your approach. This role would suit someone who enjoys finding creative ways to motivate young people, use practical activities to build confidence, and tailor learning to the individual — whatever the programme focus.
You’ll deliver Functional Skills English and Maths (Entry Level 1–Level 2) alongside life skills and employability sessions. This might include supporting a learner to develop creative projects, write their first CV, practise communication skills, build independence, or gain the confidence to take part in group activities. This is more than a teaching role — it’s about meeting young people where they are, encouraging progress at their pace, and helping them
