The Role
The Perse School, Singapore, is seeking a resourceful and forward-thinking Music Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will inspire and nurture students' musical abilities in a diverse, and inclusive environment. The role involves teaching senior school-aged children, encouraging their creativity and self-expression through various musical experiences.
In addition to classroom teaching, the candidate will have the opportunity to offer private peripatetic music lessons to students on-site, outside of part-time teaching hours.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and a passion for music.
• Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons for students, encouraging hands-on exploration of vocal and instrumental music.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs, promoting self-expression and holistic development.
• Plan, prepare, and assess musical activities and performances, collaborating with colleagues on concerts and school events.
• Incorporate technology to enhance learning, assessment, and student engagement.
• Facilitate private peripatetic music lessons on-site, providing individualized musical instruction outside of scheduled part-time teaching hours.
• Foster strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families, communicating effectively about progress and opportunities.
