Millfield School is seeking a highly professional and proactive Senior Office Assistant to provide exceptional administrative support to the Head’s Office. This is a pivotal role requiring outstanding organisation, discretion and communication skills, supporting the smooth and efficient running of the Head’s daily business.
About the Role
As a Senior Office Assistant, you will:
Work closely with the Executive Assistant to provide professional and confidential administrative support to the Head’s Office.
Support the coordination of the Head’s diary, meetings and appointments, ensuring the smooth running of daily activities.
Draft correspondence and manage communications on behalf of the Head’s Office.
Proactively manage inboxes and workflows in liaison with the Executive Assistant, ensuring actions are progressed efficiently and deadlines are met.
Prepare agendas, coordinate meetings and take minutes as required.
Maintain accurate filing systems and records to support the effective operation of the office.
Assist with hospitality and event arrangements, including coordinating invitations and catering.
About You
You will bring:
At least 2 years successful experience in a comparable role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information professionally and liaise confidently with a wide range of people.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining high attention to detail.
Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
A calm, proactive and solution‑focused approach, especially when working under pressure.
A high level of professionalism, discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Experience within an educational environment and knowledge of school systems would be advantageous.
Working Hours & Salary
This is a term-time plus 7 weeks position working Monday to Friday, 8.30am–5.00pm, offering an actual salary of £26,210–£29,704.67 (£30,000–£34,000 FTE)
