Rhodes Wood Hospital School is seeking an exceptional and committed SENCO to join our leadership team.
We are proud to be an Ofsted-rated Outstanding school (July 2025), providing education for young people receiving inpatient treatment at Rhodes Wood Hospital. The hospital specialises in supporting children and young people with eating disorders, and our school plays a vital role in ensuring that students continue to access high-quality education during their treatment and recovery.
As the needs and acuity of our patient cohort continue to increase, we are looking for a skilled SENCO who is passionate about inclusive education and has the expertise to identify, coordinate, and support the diverse special educational needs of our students while they are inpatients.
The successful candidate will:
Be a qualified teacher and hold (or be willing to work towards) the National Award for SEN Coordination.
Provide strategic leadership for SEND provision across the school.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to ensure students receive appropriate educational support.
Contribute to the school's leadership and development as a member of the senior leadership team.
Champion high expectations and positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable young people.
