SENDCo – Great Oaks College, Longford Road, Cannock, Staffordshire, WS11 0LG Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 | Full Time (40 hours/week) Purpose of the Role To lead and coordinate the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that all pupils receive personalised, high-quality support that enables them to achieve their potential. The SENDCO will champion inclusive practice, work collaboratively with staff and external agencies, and model professional integrity and the EPIC values as outlined in the Staff Code of Conduct. At Great Oaks College We are a small independent school who support students which may have previously experienced difficulties accessing in their education We are committed to ensuring that all students learn and are engaged in the appropriate programme of study, which allows them to successfully re-engage with education and to achieve their very best outcomes. We offer a very broad and balanced curriculum that enables pupils to undertake examinations and gain qualifications including GCSE’s, BTECs and functional skills, we also have access to a wide range of adventurous subjects which include water sports, mountain biking, archery, horse-riding etc. Key Responsibilities Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school. Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of EHCP’s in line with the SEND code of practice Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability. Oversee the looked after pupils within the school Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies Advise on the use of school’s budget and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively, including staff development Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum. Leading and managing staff and the effective deployment of staff
