SEND Vocational Studies Teacher – Heckington House School, East Heckington, Lincolnshire, PE20 3QF Salary: £28,288 - £44,304 | Full Time (40 hours/week) Purpose of the Role To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The Teacher will model professional integrity and the EPIC values, work collaboratively within the school community, and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment. At Heckington House School We offer specialist provision for students with SEMH and those who have found mainstream education difficult. Our facilities include small, nurturing classrooms fully equipped with smart boards to facilitate learning. We provide vocational subjects such as Hair and Beauty and Construction alongside traditional curriculum areas. Our class sizes are based on a model of 4 students to 2 adults enabling us to provide a trauma led approach to both pastoral support and educational progress. We will offer you the chance to make a real difference to young people and give you the time to plan to meet the needs of a small group of students. Key Responsibilities This role is open to specialists who can teach within construction, engineering, or mechanics Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support Lead on the curriculum adhering to Keys Group and Ofsted requirements for national education Plan and teach lessons, working with small groups and individual students Author clear, compliance-ready curriculum plans, IEPs and progress reports. Implement evidence-based strategies (e.g. TEACCH, PECS, visual schedules) Requirements A committed and passionate view of students with SEND At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environ
