About this role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support that enables a pupil to become a confident and increasingly independent learner.
Working closely with the SENDCo and teaching team, you will help deliver the provision and outcomes set out in the pupil’s EHCP. You will adapt learning activities and provide the encouragement, structure and reassurance the pupil needs to participate fully and make meaningful progress.
You will support the pupil’s academic, social and emotional development, promote positive learning behaviours and use careful observation and assessment to monitor their progress, wellbeing and achievement.
We are looking for someone who understands that effective SEND support is both highly individual and genuinely empowering. You will bring experience of working with children in an educational setting, together with a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a commitment to achieve this within 12 months. Knowledge of areas such as autism, ADHD, social communication, emotional regulation, auditory needs, metacognition and evidence-based interventions would be particularly valuable.
If you are an excellent communicator who builds trusted relationships with pupils, colleagues and families, and brings organisation, flexibility and professionalism to everything you do we would be delighted to hear from you.
