SEND Interventions Assistant – Begdale School, Begdale Road, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, PE14 0AZ
Salary: £26,228 - £27,593 | Full Time (37.5 hours/week)
Purpose of the Role
To work directly in the classroom to deliver tailored 1:1 interventions and targeted support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and
Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
By expertly implementing bespoke strategies, you will remove barriers to learning, foster independence, and ensure every child is empowered to make meaningful academic and personal progress. In addition, you will assist teachers in delivering education and care to pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

We are a small school which effectively supports children through their educational journey. Our pupils may have previously experienced significant and prolonged periods of disengagement and/or disaffection in their education.
This may have impacted negatively upon their previous levels of achievement and motivation to succeed at school. Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and behavioural challenges while delivering targeted interventions record data for colleagues
Collaborate with the School SENDCo delivering interventions and classroom support under guidance of SENDCO and Assistant SENDCO and EHCP outcomes
Work closely with teaching staff, welfare teams, clinical professionals, and external professionals
Assist pupils with learning activities, adapting support to individual needs under teacher guidance encouraging pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks
Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed
Assist pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development using traum
