About this role

SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Part Time) The Queen’s School is an all-girls’, academically selective independent school. By joining our dedicated and nurturing Lower School team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive, high-quality learning experiences for pupils with additional needs. As a SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant working closely with the SENCo and Deputy Head, you will help lead and manage SEND provision, ensuring every child is supported to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and proactive professional to coordinate interventions, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to deliver personalised support that truly makes a difference. This role combines hands-on support with strategic oversight—working directly with pupils in classrooms and small groups while also maintaining key SEND documentation, tracking progress, and supporting staff development. You will be instrumental in fostering a joined-up approach to teaching and learning, promoting high standards of achievement, and contributing to the wider school community. The first-choice school for happy, confident, future-ready girls, our approach brings together strong academic standards, a city-powered co-curricular and enrichment programme, and highly personalised pupil support. This means consistently exceptional outcomes; breadth of opportunities from sports, the arts and STEM to future skills and leadership; and a level of individual attention enabled by our boutique scale, flexible curriculum pathways, close relationships and decisions shaped around every girl’s needs, interests and passions. From our newly launched Pre-School through to Year 13, our all-girls environment increases participation, removes barriers and gives pupils the confidence to step forward and have a go.
