About this role

The Role: The SEND Behaviour Support Officer works closely with the SEND Senior Curriculum Manager to assess learners and develop tailored behaviour support strategies. The role focuses on supporting students with SEND, including SEMH and pastoral needs, promoting positive behaviour, engagement, attendance, and achievement, while ensuring safeguarding and wellbeing are central to all support. Key Responsibilities: · Develop and implement person-centred Behaviour Support Plans for individual learners · Provide 1:1 and group support sessions in and outside of timetabled learning · Monitor at‑risk learners and work with parents, staff, and external agencies to support engagement and progression · Maintain accurate intervention records, SMART targets, and reports using college systems · Support safeguarding processes, including recording concerns and initial declarations · Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion and contribute to the College’s quality improvement processes · Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including transitions and SEND services Who You Are: · A supportive and proactive professional committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing · Confident in building positive relationships with young people, colleagues, parents, and external partners · Passionate about equality, diversity, and inclusion, with practical approaches to embedding these in daily practice · Organised and reliable, with strong IT and administrative skills and attention to accurate record‑keeping · A collaborative team player who can also use initiative when supporting learners · Adaptable and resilient, able to respond positively to changing student and service needs · Committed to continuous improvement and your own professional development What We Offer: · Pension: New City College provides a career average pension scheme for all staff (TPS or LGPS) · Accessibility: All college sites are easily accessible for wheelchair users and via public tr
