We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive secondary school team, 24 hours per week, term-time only (days and times to be discussed at interview) . The role is will be for one year in the first instance. This role will primarily involve working 1:1 with students with EHCP’s, alongside delivering small group interventions and providing some in-class support across the curriculum.
You will play a key role in helping students with additional needs to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their potential—particularly in Mathematics and, where possible, Science.
You will also help in promoting emotional literacy, wellbeing, and independence, working as part of a small, committed SEND team, monitoring progress and contributing to support plans.
Strong Maths skills (essential)
Experience working with young people, ideally with SEN
Ability to build positive relationships and motivate students
A team player with a flexible and proactive approach
Knowledge of Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
Experience supporting Science learning is desirable as is a knowledge of SEND strategies and interventions and adaptive teaching
Training or qualifications in emotional literacy / wellbeing and an understanding of EHCP’s would also be desirable.
