SEN Teacher (Secondary English)
The role is a Fixed-Term, Full-Time role
5 days per week to be worked Monday to Friday: 08:30am – 17:00pm
Salary from: Starting from £35,500, depending on qualifications and experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic Secondary English Teacher to join our trans-disciplinary Team supporting small classes of children who have SLCN.
The role involves teaching and delivering English lessons to children in KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a modified curriculum, based on the National Curriculum, including a range of qualifications (ELC and GCSE). We have class sizes of up to 8 pupils working alongside an experienced team of Speech and Language Therapists, Specific Learning Difficulties teachers, Occupational Therapists and Learning Support Assistants.
The ideal candidate will have:
Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning.
Willingness and flexibility to teach other lessons as required.
A relevant teaching qualification (applications from primary trained teachers who are keen to work in KS3 and 4, are also welcomed).
Excellent English skills (clear written and spoken English) along with good reading, writing and numeracy skills.
The ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers.
The ability to work collaboratively as a member of a wider trans-disciplinary team.
Experience of working with children with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly children on the Autistic Spectrum (although this is not essential).
Experience of working with young people, ideally including experience managing challenging behaviour.
The ability to manage a small group of children with complex social communication needs.
The ability to promote positive behaviour in a nurturing environment.
