At Octavia House Schools, we have a passionate team delivering high-quality trauma-centred therapeutic education, supporting and building relationships with pupils who have adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as other associated special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
We provide a specialist educational setting, we proactively welcome enquiries from both experienced mainstream and specialist colleagues, from varying disciplines, who would like to extend their skill base.
We are pleased to announce that we are now advertising for Teaching roles at our new site in Maidstone, starting in January 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in shaping one of our schools
We are looking to appoint 4 teachers to work with pupils with SEMH needs, delivering our differentiated, all-through curriculum across KS1 to KS3.
As the school continues to grow, successful candidates will need to be able and willing to deliver at least two of the following subjects within the first 12 to 18 months: English, Maths, Science, Humanities, ICT, PE, Art, Design and Technology, PSHE and SMSC.
We welcome applications from specialist teachers, as well as colleagues from primary or secondary backgrounds who are interested in working within a nurturing, specialist SEMH setting. You will be supported by leaders at OHS with curriculum planning, delivery and ongoing professional development, ensuring you are well equipped to meet the needs of our pupils.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the OHS curriculum
· Creating and maintaining a well-managed, calm, secure and happy classroom where priority is given to the quality of the learning environment.
· Contributing to breakfast, break, lunch, assembly, exercise and extra-curricular provision
· Assessing pupils’ academic and SEMH progress using our assessment
