Swiss International School in Qatar is seeking an outstanding and forward-thinking Secondary Visual Arts & Design Technology Teacher (MYP) for August 2026. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to be part of a team of educators that is further developing the IB MYP at SISQ.
The Design and Arts Department has developed to provide a wide range of diverse experiences. Therefore, we are recruiting an arts teacher who can also support the team by offering some aspects of design teaching; including textiles. Although related skills and experience in arts and design are preferred, other relevant specialisms will also be welcome to help broaden the students' experience within these subject areas.
About you:
The successful candidate will have the following essential qualities:
Experience teaching visual arts;
Experience in the specialisms of 3D arts, textiles and/or design & technology;
Student-focused and a passion for working with MYP G6-9 or curriculum equivalent;
A collaborative working style;
A commitment to continuous improvement; student learning, wellbeing and safeguarding
The following qualities would be an advantage:
IB MYP arts and/or design experience with certified training (CAT 1, 2 or 3);
Experience within a practical setting using specialist tools and equipment;
Confidence and ability to develop design resources and planning;
Open-minded and flexible to adapt within an international school setting.
In line with the Ministry of Education's Circular requirements for this position, the candidate must possess the following:
A Bachelor’s Degree related to Arts and/or Design
A teaching qualification (PGCE / QTS / Teaching Licence);
No more than 49 years of age in August 2026 (at the point of joining the school)
