About this role
Safa British School is seeking an outstanding and experienced Secondary SENCO to lead and develop inclusive provision across the Secondary phase. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that students with additional learning needs are identified, supported, and enabled to achieve their full potential within a high-performing British curriculum environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Secondary Inclusion provision, ensuring high-quality support for students with SEND.
Oversee the identification, assessment, and monitoring of students requiring additional support.
Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Pupil Passports, and intervention programmes.
Work collaboratively with Director of Inclusion, teachers, leaders, therapists, and parents to ensure effective provision and student progress.
Coordinate referrals, assessments, and reviews with external agencies and specialists.
Monitor student progress and analyse data to inform intervention planning and provision mapping.
Support staff through coaching, training, and guidance on inclusive teaching strategies and SEND best practice.
Ensure compliance with KHDA requirements and inclusive education frameworks.
Lead transition planning for students moving between phases and key stages.
Contribute strategically to whole-school inclusion, wellbeing, and pastoral development.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, PME, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent SEND qualification
Proven experience working with students with SEND in a British curriculum setting.
Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and intervention strategies.
Experience leading teams and managing provision for students with additional needs.
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
