About this role

Position Overview: The Drama Teacher - Secondary School is responsible for developing students’ skills in acting, performance, stagecraft, and theatrical appreciation. This educator designs and delivers an engaging curriculum appropriate for grades 6–12, directs school productions, and fosters a supportive, inclusive environment where students develop creativity, collaboration, confidence, and communication skills. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Travel Requirements: Occasional local travel for field trips Key Responsibilities: 1. Instruction & Curriculum: ●Plan and teach drama courses for middle school and high school students, ranging from introductory courses to advanced acting and production as needed. ●Develop an age-appropriate curriculum that includes acting techniques, improvisation, voice and movement, character development, theatre history, and more. ●Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of varied learners and encourage participation from students of all backgrounds and experience levels. ●Integrate social-emotional competencies, creative expression, and collaboration into classroom activities. ●Assess student performance through formative and summative evaluations, performance rubrics, and project-based assessments.2. Production & Extracurricular Responsibilities: ●Direct and produce school theatre productions (plays, musicals, showcases) for both middle and high school. ●Oversee all aspects of productions, including auditions, rehearsals, casting, technical direction, stage crew leadership, costuming, sets, lighting, and sound. ●Coordinate with other arts faculty, administrators, and parent volunteers to support performances and events. ●Sponsor drama club, improv teams, or other theatre-related extracurricular opportunities. 3.
