Seasonal Grounds Person

The role Westminster School is seeking a reliable and adaptable Grounds Person to join our Grounds team on a seasonal basis. Westminster School benefits from a 10-acre playing field at Vincent Square, which includes cricket and football pitches, tennis courts (tarmac and artificial grass) and an activity area used by Westminster Under School pupils. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our grounds and sports pitches continue to be maintained to the highest possible standards. This will involve: · Maintaining artificial and synthetic playing surfaces · Marking and overmarking sports areas including football pitches, cricket squares and athletic tracks · Assisting with the upkeep and presentation of all playing surfaces and surrounding areas · Ensuring the proper management, storage and maintenance of grounds equipment and machinery · Assembling and dismantling sports equipment as required The successful candidate must hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have practical experience in grounds maintenance. A strong understanding of current Health and Safety legislation is essential, particularly in relation to the safe handling, storage and use of pesticides and similar substances. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a good standard of written and spoken English.
