About this role

Hours of Work: 21.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year (Term Time, INSET days plus 10 additional days to be worked in the school holidays). One of the days to be worked must be a Thursday Contract: Fixed term contract ending 31st August 2027 Ipswich High School is seeking to appoint a part time Science Technician to work across our Science department as part of a hard-working team. Most of the work will be as a Chemistry technician. Located on an idyllic 87-acre campus on the banks of the River Orwell, Ipswich High School enjoys an enviable reputation of delivering outstanding academic results whilst maintaining a warm, welcoming and happy community of over 500 pupils, aged 3 – 18. Candidates should be reliable, well-organised and have a working knowledge and interest in Science. Previous technician experience is desirable as is a Science related degree, and A Levels in at least one science subject is essential for those without a degree. The successful candidate will be required to provide a high level of technical assistance to teaching staff in the department, supporting them in being able to deliver the curriculum up to A Level.
