Who we are:
Maple Hayes Hall is an independent Section 41 specialist school for pupils with Cognition & Learning needs whose primary difficulty is SpLD (dyslexia, dysgraphia). Every child has an EHCP and joins us after a history of being failed by the education system. Our deliberate, evidence-informed approach (morpheme and Icons-based structured literacy) rebuilds confidence, accelerates reading and writing, and prepares pupils for fulfilling lives. We’re seeking an exceptional Science Teacher with strong subject knowledge and the creativity to make science accessible, engaging and memorable for learners with specific literacy needs.
Please note that this role requires proof of right to work in the UK. We cannot offer visa sponsorship or immediate right-to-work support.
You will:
Plan and deliver high-quality, evidence-informed Science lessons that are suitably differentiated and multisensory
Integrate our structured literacy approaches (morphemes/Icons or equivalent) into Science teaching to accelerate reading, spelling and written outcomes
Use clear assessment and progress tracking so every step of learning is visible and measurable
Contribute to curriculum development, subject leadership and whole-school improvement priorities
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to provide tailored support
Support safeguarding, pastoral systems and a Rights Respecting school culture
We are looking for an ambitious, reflective practitioner who combines deep Science knowledge with compassion and a desire to make a difference to pupils with SpLD.
