About this role
One of the world’s pre-eminent, non-profit, British international schools, St Christopher’s
School, Bahrain has a proud history of excellence spanning seven decades. A vibrant community
of over 2,300 students aged 3 to 18 and made up of more than 70 different nationalities, St
Christopher’s provides an exceptional educational experience. We are internationally
recognised as an outstanding institution, consistently achieving the highest ratings in British
Schools Overseas (BSO) inspections, and have been ranked by Spear’s as a Top 100 private
school globally for four consecutive years.
After nine years of outstanding leadership, Dr Simon Watson will leave for a new role in
summer 2027. His successor has a unique opportunity to shape the future of one of the world’s
leading international schools, and to guide St Christopher’s into an exciting new chapter. Our
new state-of-the-art Senior School campus opened this summer providing us with world-class
facilities to match our academic ambition. Our new Principal will help us to realise the potential
of this exceptional development, whilst further enhancing our position as a leading institution
in an increasingly competitive market and rapidly evolving international education landscape.
The Board welcomes applications from experienced leaders with a strong track record of
success in high performing British or British international schools. We seek an outstanding
educationalist with the vision, ambition and experience to inspire the diverse St Christopher’s
community in pursuit of even greater success. Our new Principal will have the political acuity to
lead an organisation at the heart of the community in Bahrain, and the personal authority,
gravitas and authenticity to engage multiple influential stakeholders nationally and
internationally. Outstanding communication skills and a strong understanding of the
commercial and operational dimensions of school leadership are essential, as is a genuine
resonance with St Christop
