Safeguard, support and empower every studentErnest Bevin Academy is seeking to appoint a committed, vigilant and compassionate Safeguarding Officer to join our dedicated pastoral and safeguarding team.

About the roleYou will work closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams and external agencies to promote a strong culture of safeguarding across the school.
The role involves identifying, monitoring and responding to safeguarding concerns, supporting vulnerable students and families, and ensuring all safeguarding processes are followed effectively and consistently.
We are looking for someone who:Has experience working with young people in a safeguarding, pastoral or education setting
Has a strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
Is calm, professional and able to handle sensitive situations with discretion
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Can build effective relationships with students, families and external agencies
Is highly organised and able to maintain accurate and confidential records
Is committed to promoting student wellbeing and safety
Key responsibilities include:Acting as a key point of contact for safeguarding concerns within the school
Supporting the identification, referral and monitoring of safeguarding and welfare issues
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date safeguarding records
Liaising with external agencies and professionals as required
Supporting students and families to access appropriate support services
Contributing to safeguarding training and awareness across the school
Working closely with pastoral tea
