About this role
We are seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer to join the College. This role is offered on a full-time (36.25 hours per week), all-year-round, permanent basis, and is paid on Points 19 - 23 of the Support Staff Salary Spine (currently £36,564 - £41,019 per annum).
This role is part of the wider Pastoral Team. The Pastoral Team is led by the Assistant Principal (Students), who oversees the student pastoral provision. The Team also includes a number Progress Tutors, the Learning Support team, Careers team and Counsellors as well as the contribution from the wider curriculum and support staff and appropriate external agencies.Pastoral care is a major priority for us and our aim is to provide a safe and secure environment for students to study and thrive. There are robust systems in place to monitor student attendance, punctuality and general progress. There is a team of experienced staff who can support students experiencing difficulties either in their studies or personal life. The College has an in-house confidential counselling service available as well as links to a number of external agencies that can offer help and guidance.The College is seeking to appoint a professional, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to oversee support provided to students on a day-to-day basis, where a safeguarding or welfare concern is identified.
