Tyne and Wear Learning Trust are seeking to appoint an outstanding and enthusiastic Childcare Officer to join their highly successful school Day Care at the Monument Centre.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of our 2-year-old room. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for someone who has a strong understanding of the unique needs, development and learning of two-year-old children. The Room Lead will be responsible for creating a safe,nurturing, inclusive and stimulating environment where children feel secure, valued and encouraged to develop their independence, confidence and curiosity. You will lead and support a small team of staff, providing effective guidance and supervision and ensuring high standards of practice are maintained.

The successful applicant will hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (Early Years Educator or equivalent) that meets current DfE/EYFS criteria and includes a Level 2 English qualification. Qualifications must be recognised to count in the EYFS staff: child ratios. Qualifications must be recognised to count within EYFS staff-to-child ratios.

• Have a strong and up-to-date understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and its application to two-year-old children.
• Experience of working with children aged 2-3 years, with a clear understanding of their developmental, emotional and individual needs.
• The ability to lead, motivate and support a small staff team, providing clear guidance, direction and effective supervision.
• A genuine passion for working with two-year-old children and a commitment to providing them with the very best possible start in their learning journey.
