Resource Base Teaching Assistant

Title: Teaching Assistant in Resource base with a diagnosed Primary Need of ASD Scale 5 - Point 5-6 School: Rangefield and Forster Park Primary Schools Hours: 31.25 hours Monday - Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm 30 mins lunch break 15 minutes break MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB A teaching assistant in our resource base works under the direction of teachers and HLTA’s to support students with special educational needs and a diagnosis of ASD. They provide targeted support, including delivering interventions, and contribute to planning and assessment. They also play a crucial role in fostering students' independence, self-esteem, and social-emotional well-being within the resource base setting. They deliver interventions and work closely as part of a team. Each resource base classroom has 7 children working throughout the day between the resource base class and transitioning to their mainstream class for some lessons.
