Resource Base Class Teacher

Somerford Community Primary School is looking for a teacher of SEN to teach a class within our resourced provision for children with an Autistic profile and associated Social Communication needs from September 2026. This is an opportunity to help implement and develop our inclusive vision to further support children within our community. We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled teacher with experience of teaching SEN pupils to join our team, who is able to provide a nurturing and inclusive approach to learning. The role: Teach and lead a class of up to 8 pupils, supported by up to two teaching assistants per class Develop and deliver a creative, adaptive curriculum and therapeutic strategies to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing Link with class teachers in the main school to help children attending the provision access their link mainstream class up to 50% of the time Assess and monitor pupil progress, designing individualised learning plans and managing EHCPs for the base Work closely with the SENCo, therapists, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every child Play a key role in shaping the new provision, including its routines, resources, and systems Engage with parents and carers to build strong, supportive relationships What we offer: The chance to be part of an exciting new project and influence its development A brand-new facility with state-of-the-art equipment and resources Supportive, visible leadership team and a welcoming school community A genui
